I also play it a lot in blitz games.. I have 2 books just for this variation..(total of 6 books on caro-kann).. The main book in this variation is not Speelman's book. It is jermey Silman's Book: The dynamic Caro-kann (printed in 1980's)It is a very good book also covering gxf6...(which is played by Seirewan ocaasionally..)I have a 3rd book also just about this variation (by Curtacci.. not very good.) I have studied this line for OTB..I almost played it against GM Kudrin in an OTB game.(he has a crusing win with white)There are some very interesting ideas for black.. the line you played was inferior.. The variation is not sound for black (exf6... gxf6 may be sound, but still not very good for cc)it is OK for a surprise against an unprepared opponent (even korchnoi tried it against karpov in a WC game, drawing luckily at the end) Tansel Turgut
