I´ve never said that you can detect the strongest program in a seven round tournament, but you can get a good impression of the abilities of the several programs, and much more if you have two participants of the same program, even on several machines. And if you are the „great tournament player“ as you feel yourself (I remember that since few days ago you wasn´t aware of the changing in the permanent brain line between MCP7 and MCP8!!!! Very funny that such an expert doesn´t notice that) than you must have noticed that there are more senseful aspects. During these tournements, following each move of the programs, thinking yourself about each move your program want to play, you learn much more about the strong and weak points of your programs than collecting the points of hundred games in your home-autoplayer-sessions. >Brilliant.
