No you don't need large hash tables for blitz and in fact if the hash tables are too large the program will play slower at blitz. CM6000 is a selective searcher so it plays better at longer and longer time controls on very fast machines. Perhaps your computer isn't fast enough for blitz playing. There is currently arguments on the CCC at which personalities are best for CM6000. Read the other threads on this. -- Komputer Korner
