I have no problem with off-topic posts as such, as long as they are not
offending in whatever way. People (especially those that mark their messages as
OT) are just trying to get some answers on questions they have. No harm in doing
that, so no reason to delete messages.

But when there is doubt in whether a message should be allowed or not (for other
reasons) it might just tip the scale towards hitting the delete button.
