Reducing the issue down to it's most elementary level, it seems that it is necessary to define CCC's version of "computer chess" before one can determine whether or not a bulletin is on or off of the CCC "computer chess" topic. In it's highest "ivory tower" form, the ideal CCC bulletin would contribute significantly to new and maybe creative solutions to the current and future technical problems of computer chess. Nevertheless, there are other forms of CCC computer chess besides this "highest" form and, in any case, we cannot all be brilliant all the time. Bob D.
