In the price range you hinted you should also consider the Novag Star Diamond,
that is most probably able to play a better game of chess than the above devices
and offers a similar amount of features. I got one and am happy with it.

The Mephisto Milano Pro is also a very fine computer and might even be the best
buy if you look for a strong opponent for a reasonable price these days.

I only chose this site as it has nice pictures - you should be able to get a
Milano Pro for a much lower price.
