You need a *MUCH* smaller file usually called "start.pgn" that has a few lines to determine what crafty plays in the opening (i.e. if you want crafty to only play e4 you do e4!). That file is available at hyatt's ftp (ftp.cis.uab.edu/pub/hyatt). Use book create medium.pgn (or whatever)60 and books create start.pgn 60. That should help. Matt
