I will never disable ponder off.

people who have one computer with only one processor and want to analyze a
position by engine-engine game may prefer ponder off and not ponder on.

With ponder off 100% of the computer time is used.
With ponder on part of the time is not used effectively because the engine
ponders the wrong move.
