No, it will connect with winboard engines also. However I would recomend winboard for ICC (or any server connection). Arena seems to do funny things with the clocks in internet games, I have also had it simply not pass the move to my engine. This could be because I have a slightly older version that the latest, maybe it has been fixed, or maybe my engine had problems. cheers Tor
