Hello >The Classic GUI works generally OK >unless I'm multitasking other software, which is often the case. In the CB-GUI the CPU time for a native Chessbase Engine seems to be handled by the gui. What is the Classic-GUI doing in your Taskmanager? On my comp the GUI is using somewhere close to 0% when running an engine. It is the engine that is using 99% or 100% CPU. Have you tried to reduce the process priority for an engine. You should have the same problems if you run a engine in Winboard for example. How is the behavior of the CB-GUI (regarding taskswitching)if you run a UCI engine there? Btw: If you run Shredder as an UCI engine in the CB-GUI is that somehow changing the behavior of the GUI regarding memory faults while changing hash size? If not it is for sure the GUI because you are using the same engine in the classic without any problems. Bye Ingo
