How to decide which to do and which not?

Maybe the answer lies in the design of chess engines for play in endgames.  If
most or all engines do quite well in one type of endgame, then forget the
tablebase for that kind of endgame.  On the other hand, maybe some endgames are
handled horribly by all engines.  They would be good candidates for a tablebase
solution.  Maybe.

Agree?  More thoughts?
