My guess is that it finds the mate in 9 in the fail high, but looks for a
shorter one.
When you restart it, it has the mate in 9 in hash, and plays it much quicker.
It seems this particular fail high kills the extensions in Crafty.
Just a guess.
A fail high from 12s to 5+ minutes, in my book, is a catastrophic fail high.
Especially when you're doing 2.7M+ nps.
