Some work was done way back for Adv_Comp_Chess_6 on max(DTM) 'problem' mates where White has a unique move to win DTM-optimally at each step. There must have been an EGT but I guess it was not preserved. This would be worth running again: the modification to the retro-algorithm (or to an existing DTM EGT) is that a 'win' is only regarded as a win if it has a unique DTM-optimal move to win. 'Unique' needs a little care: a positions symmetric about a1-h8 or h1-a8 cold have two physical DTM-optimal winning moves which are functionally equivalent. g
