Dear Readers, I've written reviews at ChessCafe.com for several years now. In fact the book review prior to Mig's was written by me. I've never been paid for any of my reviews, and neither has anybody else. Our reward is...we get to keep the product sent to us. Hanon Russell told me that it's his hope, some day, to be able to pay reviewers. But at present, the product being reviewed is our sole source of compensation. If the product is crap (sometimes it is!), then we're out of luck. But to date, I've received some fine chess books and that's also how I acquired Shredder 7. All the best, Stephen
