Subject: Why are AMD processors "better" for computer chess?

If someone could help me understand this, I'd appreciate it.  I'm smart enough
to understand some technical jargon, so feel free to expound...

Real-world advice = advice from folks who actually use the equipment in question
on a daily basis, not advice or feedback from some magazine or something.
