I ran a 20-game match between Arasan 6.3 (released in Jan. 2003) and Arasan 7.4 (latest version). Version 7.4 won with a score of +8 -6 =6. Not a conclusive result, IMO, but at least it's in the direction I expected. Games are available at http://www.arasanchess.org/arasan63.pgn. I have seen some rating lists that show 6.3 ahead of later versions, for example: http://home.wanadoo.nl/richard.pijl/html/ranking.html but the difference there is within the margin of error. --Jon
