Not sure what you mean by "drop", but sounds bad.

Many people, including myself (who cares?) and Bob Hyatt (ok, he knows what he's
doing) don't use the TT in the hash table. The idea is that MVV/LVA works just
fine for QSearch, and you don't fill up the hash table with a bunch of junk from
way out at the edges of the tree.

Restrict TT to the normal search.
Use incremental sort for history and MVV/LVA, it's pretty trivial to implement.
