Someone please fill in the Gaps here.>>>>Mike The learning feature in Shredder is ON by default, if memory serves me right you can select/deselect it in engine properties. To find out wether "your" shredder makes use of this feature, go to your engines folder and see if there is a shredder.plr file, if there is then "your" Shredder has been paying attention so to speak and has learned from the positions it has been subjected to. The learning feature (shredder.plr) is not related to ponder=on/of as i understand it, it collects data which suposedly will help it in later games in similar and identical positions, this it will do wether you have ponder=on/off as long as positional learning is on.
