The AMD naming convention is not lineair compared to Ghz clock. They introduced it to look better than P4. So the above math is not possible with naming conventions. In fact you can't even compare clockrates. The cpu's from intel do not scale lineair at all, thanks to whatever stupid they did. Note that Nocona X86-64 from intel is delayed. They murmur Q4 2004 now to *present* it. That will take some time before it is available then. Intel is dead. Centrino is impressive considering its IPC. Next year Intel will release dual core mobile chips. For the SMP capable engines that will be cool. >On March 12, 2004 at 07:49:09, emerson tan wrote: > >>A 1.5Ghz centrino is equivalent to what Athlon speed? >> >>how about equivalent to pentium4 speed? >> >>The performances of processors doesnt depend on frequency now and its creating a >>confusion when buying, can anyone help me on this? >> >>Thanks
