Just a few quick things for those of you who care. dewit is about 1.5 years in
the making, starting off playing about 1500 blitz (ICC) and now playing about
2400 and has gone well above 2600 at times. The first version ran on a P133
32mb of ram, recently running on a PII 266, 32mb of ram. It plays a very strong
game against computers, and less so against human. Anything under 4 minutes if
plays very well compared to the opponent, and has a 8-9-4 record against crafty.
It makes use of EGTB's, but still the older, larger versions. Opening book is
50kb, moes taken from a few chess books I have at home. I sadly don't have much
time to work on it right now, so version 3.1 will be out soom, which will fix my
resume game bug, and then it will likely be some time before any newer versions
are out.
