Hello Tim,
I think it is just a coincidence.  I looked back at my match of Junior 5.0 vs
CM5500 and the first two games were a draw.  This was when Junior 5.0 was on the
Pentium II.  Also they split the first 6 games and Junior won the match 7-5 so
it won the second six by 4-2 on the K6-2-350.  Also the Junior 5.0 "Mark" is:

Pentium II-333                  K6-2-350
Short 208 (259 Knps)       short 236 (294 Knps)
Long 225 (253 Knps)        Long  250 (282 Knps)
This indicates that Junior 5.0 is faster on the K6-2.

By the way, the few test I done on CM6K indicate very little difference (<10%).
