It originated in my particular case when I sent one of our members some games that were requested on THIS forum. I don't remember exactly which member it was because I did not think any more of it until these requests started to appear in my email. With a search of the archives I think the perpetrator could be discovered. This is the only forum I know that posts your email address in your profile. Being a trusting person when I joined I suppose I was very naive to think they wouldn't do this. My email address is now changed to offer some protection from the "harvesters." I have a suspicion our email addresses are being used here for the "Invitation to join the chessdatabase group". When I sent an email to whoever is in charge of this in Administration I was told "to change my email address." Yeah, that's a great solution now...... DHM
