Pretty much summed up what I was going to say :) Though Ruffian is available for
Linux and OS X. Crafty can compile on just about any POSIX compatible OS.
And CM9000 was just released for OS X.

One thing I like about open source engines though, is you can fine tune them to
your system. For example, I'm curious to know how well Ruffian and TheKing work
under non windows machine. For example are they multithreaded so it can utilize
SMP systems etc.  In my view porting doesnt mean that it was compiled to just
run on the system. It should also be at least somewhat tuned for the
architecture.
