Consider what happens when you use the + and - options to increase/decrease the number of lines in the engine window in infinite analysis mode. That's handled "on the fly" without any problem, and the hash table is certainly involved. Prior search results are obviously retained in the hash table there after making a change. It doesn't cause a problem with any engine, insofar as I'm aware. No, I think what we're seeing here is a reluctance to admit to any bug or quirk by certain people defending their financial interests, and that's about all. I have no reason or interest to assassinate the reputation of any software, but a bug must be called a bug, and it must be admitted (like an alcoholic must admit to the problem, as a necessary first step to recovery), and it must be fixed - or they have buggy software.
