Enough said, my guess is that CM lovers like to watch their CM >>>play games against other engines rather than use an engine with features which >>>can help a chessplayer to improve. > >It seems to me that you agree with me that CM is not sufficient as a chess >engine alone, if it was you WOULD NOT OWN OTHER CHESS ENGINES OR CHESS SOFTWARE >TO FULFILL YOUR OTHER NEEDS. Firstly that is not a question that i addressed. >That was the point I was trying to get accross, This is not the point that you were trying to get across! You were trying to make a statemnent that chessmaster was not a good tool for strong players. Which is in my expert opinion patently false. I >am not trying to say the CM is a weak engine. Not all engines play the same, and >definitely it is important to have different engines to evaluate a chess >position, that will allow one to discover the nuisances in a chess position. So >why would you want to own other chess engines if you say that CM is the best >engine for? Please read this statement you wrote again. Firstly i didn't say Chessmaster is the best, what i said is that in my expert opinion it's one of the best. It does have what i consider to be the most enjoyable style. Even if i had said it was the best that would not be inconsistent with using multiple engines. The only claim that i have made is that it is a useful tool for the strong player, something you tried to contradict. Yet only just above you go and make the statement "it is important to have different engines to evaluate a chess positions". Since there is no reason to exclude CM since you also say "I am not trying to say the CM is a weak engine", it is you who is contradicting yourself. Now, considering that i'm a USCF Life master/Fide Master with 20+ years of experience I think you should at least give me the courtesy of thinking these statements through a little more carefully before going on rash tirades. >Sorry dude, you are contracdicting your own statements.....!!! If you read the stream of threads beneath you will see that indeed you are the one at fault and not I. You need to stop before "I have to get medieval on your a@#" in the style of Bob Hyatt :). Sorry i just had to get that one in :). R. Takata USCF Life Master Fide Master Owner of all programs in the SSDF top 10 :)
