My impression is that they are about equal. I have two dual machines here, one dual MP2800+ and a dual Xeon 3.0 Ghz. Deep Fritz 8 gets about 2000 kn/sec. on the MP2800+ and about 2400 kn/sec. on the Xeons with 4 threads and hyperthreading. Probably Fritz favors the Xeons because it is using MMX extensively, and clock speed becomes important then. Deep Junior is doing better on the MP2800's for instance.
