See my other posts in this thread for details. But the upshot is that Johan has always had the final say on what the default settings are going to be for each new version of Chessmaster. And he, of course, knows about all of these tests that have taken place (as well as his own tests that nobody -- not even I -- know about). I would certainly take it on faith that he knows his engine best, and knows how to best present his engine to the "typical Chessmaster user" (which is certainly unlike the people on this board). ;-) jm
