Back when Crafty was dominant, how much "anti-human" stuff was enabled? Or was it even Crafty? It seemed then that no matter who it played, it was a tough opponent. Currently right now when Crafty recieves the "computer" command it really culls the opening selection to the point that opening lines get repeated. I think this is another area that is hurting Crafty. If it played a little wider in the book, I think it would allow for more lines to be learned. The default bookc.bin almost always plays 1.d4! when 1.e4 and 1.Nf3 are good opening choices. I rebuilt the opening books to allow for more play, but Crafty still takes over and plays the 1.d4 opening line. It would be nice to have anti-human play when needed but when playing computers a normal style of game. Then again I could just be totally out in left field. :) Peter
