Hi Jason, Yes, I agree, the best reason for purchasing Chessmaster for me is for the personalities. They are varied and offer playing strengths from absolute beginner up to grandmaster. Also it's very easy to create your own and have even more fun and variety. I think they have gone somewhat overboard with the range of board and piece combinations. Very few of the combinations are really useable and I would still like to see a really good 2D arrangement ideally fully customizable. The chessbase products offer a very nice 2D board and piece set I think. The new 3D staunton sets are very nice, but I still prefer to play on the 2D sets - actually I play with the 3D flat pieces in 'overhead' perspective. The training and learning facilities of Chessmaster are first class, and as you say the whole package is good value for money. I currently have CM6000 and CM9000.
