Hi

If you like to train and play against programs yourself, you could also try my
program Neurosis. (winboard (so can be used in Arena) and standalone)
It has a few options to hopefully make it interesting to play against yourself.
Adjust it's strength (lowest, 500 nodes per second) and style, (normally my
program is a bit materialistic, but you can set it to be very agressive and
speculative) and can use it's time more realistic and human-like. (never move
instantly, etc)
And the standalone version is 3D (and the graphics are fast, don't need any form
of hardware acceleration or directX or anything like that, and will also run
descent on a very slow computer..unlike other 3D chessprogs) where you can fly
around and so.

And there will be a new version in a few weeks. There are some improvements to
the chessplaying bit, and in the last month(s) I have been working on another
(3D)game, and for that I have rewritten my entire 3D-engine, and will be using
the improvements for Neurosis-3D as well. (faster, and better graphics when you
fly very close or through objects, higher 3D-resolution for objects that come
close, and i have improved the polygonclipping to be more correct now. And some
other things.)

Neurosis on the "download" pulldown-list.
