Art, You can reinstall Windows 98. The best method is to backup your old data files to CDROMs and then F-disk your old drive. Thereafter you just install Windows 98 from your original disks. If your original disks were not Win 98, 2nd Edition you need to get on the internet to download the update files. Another method would be to search for your corrupted files and replace them from the original installation disks. A simpler but more problematic method is to put the Win 98 disk in your drive and hit reinstall at the command screen. Make sure you mark the "save old files" instruction. You should also save your old data on CDROM in case something goes wrong. Just get a new computer with Windows XP Pro. That is the easiest but most stable alternative. You can then take your CDROM-stored data and put it into your new machine.... TJF PS Give the old computer to some kid who loves to tinker.
