I tried to access the site using Lynx and I can't activate any links either :)
If you can access and use your site successfully in Lynx, then it will probably
work in any browser. That is something to keep in mind for the future. Lynx is a
text only web browser that you can run from in a DOS box (or bash shell, etc.).

I think it is important to ask yourself the purpose of your website. Is the
purpose of your site to look cute or to deliver content? I prefer content over
looking cute, unless looking cute is the content. Adding on things just to make
the page look cuter usually decreases the usability. Someone won't have the
right browser, or the right plugin, or a fast internet connection to download
the 10 MB plugin or browser update, or...etc.

I like plain old basic HTML myself. Anyone can read it whether they're using a
text browser, an audible browser, a PDA, a cell phone, some lesser used OS or
browser, etc.
