Hello Marc

A brand new system and it would freeze, give kernel stack in page errors,
program exceptions

I had trouble loading hiarcs, shredder, chess tiger (lokasoft)

System came with xp home

I sent it back for testing/repair

what gui update do you refer to ?

as far as I know I have latest gui from playchess.com

btw I thought windows 64 was not compatible with most 32 bit programs

I understand it is available for trial use but possible compatibility concerns
caused me to hesitate. Are you using it ?

system has a live update utility for drivers and bios
but I did not get to try it

Tom
