I think that the basic idea is this (just guessing):
If someone shows up who is new here and starts asking about the whereabouts of
whinging twits, it will raise a few eyebrows.
Then, if they start making strange posts or starting fights, I think they will
be given a lot less slack than a regular would.
If I were a moderator, and someone came along and it looked like trouble, I
would be inclined to yank the plug quickly (far more rapidly than against a
regular). After all, moderators are like parents {to paraphrase Bill Cosby}.
They don't want justice. They want quiet.
