Hi Michael: Perhaps you are exagerating a bit. Your analysis presupose that somebody "hate" a program. How is that possible? You can dislike a program -or anything else- but to hate it... And of course if you change from "to hate" to "dislike", all your sych elaboration explanatuon falls in pieces. To begin with, all people here has almost all or almost. Besides, prices are in absolute terms so low that relative differences are not relevant. OK, this program cost "twice" than the other, but that means just 30, 40 or at most 50 dollars more. So what? I am not going to hate a thing because it is 40 bucks more expensive than the other and maybe less good for me. If that happens i am not going to hate the product because other guy have one that is best, I just purchase the best. No Michael, I believe you are somewhat wrong. In my experience, to dislike or to like a program is something that surge from other sources than just a calculation about how much dollars you expended to get what. Sometimes is the GUI that stimulate you more to use the program or the contrary. Sometimes you love it because you won to it a pretty game. Or you tend to forget another program because he gives you a mauling without pity all the time. The most capriciuos and unconcious reasons are behind it. If ever happens that you purchased something that is absolute shit, then you just throw it away and forget it. You do not lose time hating the good product and despising the bad one. You trash this last and buy the first. Nevertheless, you have aimed to a very interesting field, that of marketing forces behind this little industry. Perhaps we could elaborate something more in this. Regards fernando
