I have to check but first impression is a sign bug is too serious and I doubt a program can still be coherent. I think my format is identical to calling score = -search(depth - 1, -beta, -alpha) as I have ++ply , --ply, side ^= -1 etc. when needed. The hashkey is for the after-the-move board and also took care of sign / side etc. Thanks Rasjid
