Dear Ricardo,

From the COPYRIGHT/LEFT ATTRIBUTION of vaious GnuChess releases, the original
must have been written by Stuart Cracraft, therefore SCP(Stanback's Chess
Program) cannot be ver. 1. 00.

Same is also evidenced by the Websites below:(arrow added)

John rendered a huge contribution to the GnuChess Family(esp. ver 2.xx ~ 4.xx),
but it was not him who initiated Project GnuChess.

Stuart also authored Gazebo(for Win 3.x), and GnuChess Ver5.00+(w/ Chua Kong
Sian)
