I am currently using an XP 2600+, Win XP Pro and Fritz 8 or Arena interfaces to run engine/engine matches. I notice that sometimes engines share processor time properly with pondering enabled and othertimes not. Would a hyperthreading P4 improve this situation or not? What about the Athlon 64 for engine/engine matches with pondering on? I'm afraid my budget does not stretch to a proper duel processor set up. Many thanks for your views.
