Try your favorite chess program on the Evans Gambit

In particular, this position is worth a look.  Make sure your book is turned
off:
[D]r1bqk1nr/pppp1ppp/2n5/b7/2BpP3/2P2N2/P4PPP/RNBQ1RK1 b kq - am dxc3; bm Nge7;

Many other gambits may prove troublesome sans book.

I would be interested to see which programs can solve this problem from first
principles in tournament time control.
