And why people get upset when they spend many 1000's of dollars on a multi-cpu system. When they find it does not win every game playing a single CPU system. It is logical and based on the evidence I have seen, it seems to be true. As you increase search depth. Each added ply will net you less gain in elo then the previous ply. Meaning you will gain much more elo searching from ply 1 to ply 2(200+ elo gain) then searching from ply 16 to ply 17 (approx. 70 elo gain). >more... > >>>http://msdn.microsoft.com/longhorn/
