Palm programs designed for 68000 series processors run on the newer, ARM processor Palms, in an emulation mode. My Tungsten T with very fast ARM processor runs Tiger at about the same speed as the Palm m505 I had previously with a much slower 68000 processor, for example. The latest version of Genius for Palm has code that takes advantage of the new ARM processor, running "armlets" which are pieces of code that run outside this simulation environment at the full speed of the unit. So you are correct, the "400 ELO" improvement is due mostly to Genius' ability to take advantage of better hardware. Jason http://tools.remixer.com
