Subject: Axon vs Ruffian: a strange game. How about the "crazy" moves 11 and 12?

Author: Djordje Vidanovic

Date: 15:00:08 03/29/04

This is the game. Played under Arena, 10 sec per move, Athlon 2200+, Dep't of
Electrical Engineering, University of Nis. A strange win of Axon over Ruffian
Leiden. To read the game well, just copy-paste it into Winboard/Arena or
ChessBase/Fritz:

Tord (Gothmog) will probably like this game, as Gothmog goes berserk as well at
times. Anyway, Axon is _way_ too speculative at the moment. On second thought,
the name "Berserker" might have fitted Axon like a glove. To tell the truth, I
don't particularly mind -- this was a nice game. However, I am left in the dark
about the "positional" grounds for the piece sac and whether moves 11 and 12 for
Black appear reasonable to us mortals.
