Mr Walker, Once again, I state, that from the games you played it appears that Junior 5 is optimized for a Pentium processor. The last six games show the program winning with white and losing with black. It did not play as well (drew with white) on the AMD K-6 which is a "faster" processor. What you have shown us is a hint that these programs play differently on different processors. For those with a "statistical" outlook I must remind you that we are not dealing here with random processes. A CPU and a program interact in "definite" ways that are "repeatable". All in all, I thank you for the games. They do show us that CM6000 has a chess engine that is as good as or better than the competition. They also tell us to be wary of using non-Intel processors if we want the best results. Sounds like a pitch for Intel doesn't it!? My checker playing buddies have noticed that the AMD processors usually play a better game of checkers, Mhz for Mhz, than Intel processors.
