After reading the WinBoard Forum entry I wanted to see what kind of results I would get on a faster system AMD XP 3000+ at the same 10 seconds per move with Tao running heavy extensions and for a gage to compare the difference in systems I also ran Gothmog to see the imporvement on a faster system. The results on the ECMGCP were Tao 5.6 with the follow settings Solved 147 out 183 PreExtension = 16 CheckExtension = 24 MateExtension = 24 OneReplyExtension = 24 RecapExtensionType= normal RecapExtension = 12 HalveExtension = 2.0 NullMoveType = R=2/3 Tao 5.6 with default settings solved 143 out of 183 Gothmog with Selectivity 6 solved 143 out of 183 I will let eveyone draw their own conclusion here...
