>Who cares about online ratings? >Cheating at online tournaments is the real problem. In answer to question #1, alot of people care about their online rating (especially those that cheat). Sometimes I know I care a bit too much. Be that as it may, the issue of online ratings is somewhat of a distraction. When someone enters into a game with another person online, and they don't have a (C) after their handle, but chose to use illegal assistance anyway, then it is cheating. This is a violation of a contract (however informal) that is made with the other player. Furthermore, it is a deception, a lie and a waste of my time. That is the disturbing aspect IMO, since I doubt you can trust these people in other areas of life as well. I play on the servers because I want to play a person, not a program. I've got hundreds of programs to play against at home. Why would I want the same thing on the server? So the issue for me is not so much the rating, but the simple idea of cheating. So any cheating (and not just in tournaments) is a problem. Bob
