The games in the database have already been assigned ECO opening codes, so you can certainly search for specific codes. The CD contains different types of databases, so you can easily copy the type you use to your hard disk. I have copied the Chessbase .CBH format database to my hard disk. After adding in a search booster it totals 280 MB. It was somewhat smaller before that. I've used the database quite a lot since I got it a few weeks ago, and in all that time I've found perhaps 3-5 mistakes in games, which is really such a small number as to be almost immeasurable in a database that size. In response to Dave - the next time I find one I will send it to Knut - it hasn't happened often enough for me to think of doing that. I am one of the software junkies of this group, so I have the Chessbase Mega 98 database, the Ultimate Game Collection III and now Knut's database. I consider his the best and it's the one I normally use, although they're all quite good. His is the biggest and the cheapest - it's hard to beat that! Paul
