But I'm sure that after 1 Ghz there are a very tiny difference between computers. Even 8-processor computer cannot crack the chess. Chess magic is still unsolved. (And it is good for humans!) "Nodes per second" shows nothing. Make the following: set any good program to analyze a position after 15-20 moves (out of book) and what level it get after many days? The more days the less progress untill it will be frozen. And what kind of moves it offers you? Decent and average which may to be bad after a few moves on board. Off course, chess engines can help in analyzing position especially with forced (or short-sight) lines but mostly under human menagement. Best regards, Igor Gorelikov
