The more the merrier ... big hash tables for analysis,engine matches. Multi-tasking between programs, working with graphics. RAM is cheap nowadays so load up when u buy it. Another thing too is why not buy a dual comp? For a little extra in the scheme of things u can have something about 2X as fast for chess, maybe a dual 2800 MP ... an idea.
