"For her exceptional performance while winning the European Championship with 9.5 out of 12, against 12 titled opponents, which corresponds to a stunning performance of 2625 (!), Alexandra Kosteniuk was awarded the highest title, GrandMaster (GM), a men's title. This is in addition to the IM (International Master, men) title she already has, as well as the WGM (Woman GrandMaster) title Alexandra received at the age of 14.
