Subject: meet the next woman to earn a men's GM title....

Author: Mike Byrne

"For her exceptional performance while winning the European Championship with
9.5 out of 12, against 12 titled opponents, which corresponds to a stunning
performance of 2625 (!), Alexandra Kosteniuk was awarded the highest title,
GrandMaster (GM), a men's title. This is in addition to the IM (International
Master, men) title she already has, as well as the WGM (Woman GrandMaster) title
Alexandra received at the age of 14. This title still has to be approved by the
FIDE, in due time. You can see the original certificate here. This is a
wonderful birthday present for Alexandra who is going to celebrate her 20th
birthday in less than 3 weeks."
