I already suggested it a long time ago and I have ideas to generalize it and get rid of special extension for pawn endgame by simply searching deeper lines that are easy to search if the time of the search is small enough and when the time of the search is big enough(can be also in the middle of the search) to stop the search. The point is that Crafty failed to see the win in a reasonable time even some plies after trading the queens and the same for other programs so I think that access for W/D/L tables for KPP in the RAM is very important here.
